About Termite Protection

Go Green Pest Protection received it’s training from the University of Florida, the leaders in Termite and Wood destroying organism research and development. Why trust just anyone to do the most important inspection of your home! We offer thorough WDO inspections on new home purchases for $99. Receiving the latest up to date research has given us a cutting edge in this field and we are here to pass this knowledge on to our customers.

We understand that if you are reading this section on our website, chances are that you are concerned you may have an infestation or simply want to avoid this from happening in the first place. We will be glad to inspect your home for possible termite activity and give you peace of mind. Please feel free to give us a call today and schedule a free inspection of your home!

Treatments we use

Go Green is here to protect your home! If your home is about to be built, we can pretreat your homes wood structure using Bora Care which is a green product, and back it up with a thirty year warranty, the longest in the industry. We then treat the soil to seal in your protection. This is a long term solution and our warranties back it up!

Many factors dictate the best treatment for a problem you may have with an older home and can depend on where the infestation is for drywood termites specifically. For subterranean termite infestations we offer not only bait stations (most earth friendly), but also use a more earth friendly termiticide that actually has no signal warning on it’s label so it is EPA exempt, a first in termiticides, this product is Altriset by Syngenta.

We are here to help you so please give us a call so we can arrange a free inspection of your problem or interest.

Trelona Advanced Termite Baiting system

Our system of choice is the Trelona baiting system. After installing and monitoring hundreds of Sentricon HD baiting systems over the years, and seeing the many frequent failures of there stations in general, I feel the Trelona ATBS baiting system is far superior for the homeowner, for the following reasons.

The Baits & Stations

The bait: Sentricon HD uses Hexaflumuron which is a chitin inhibitor which dries out the outer layer of a termite. Trelona Advanced uses Novaluron which is a chitin inhibitor as well. These baits are like kissing cousins, working the same way to effectively kill termite colonies.

The Station: This is the component that holds, protects, and secures the bait. After installing & monitoring the Sentricon HD system personally in the past, I have found protective caps broken or missing on 2 out of 3 homes, and occasionally the bait missing completely from the station, so this is a very serious drawback to this system and unacceptable. Take into account the Sentricon HD bait stations are only checked once per year by the pest control operator and the risk of bait being exposed freely for a very long period of time go up significantly. If homeowners have small children or pets, this can be a serious risk due to the ease (bait has loop handle to easily grab) at which this bait can be completely removed by a pet or small child. This bait also looks exactly like a rawhide chew for dogs!

Please read about Trelona Advanced below!

The Trelona ATBS Termite baiting system has very secure stations. They are made of heavy gauge components, and have a very secure cap which locks in place and needs a special tool to remove the cap (see tool above) and cannot be exposed to animals and children. We will gladly show you each systems components and let you be the judge for yourself. We are sure you will also choose the Trelona ATBS baiting system to secure your home and property. When we install your system, we personally back it up with a written $250,000 warranty against termite activity after installation.

Which Termites might you have:

The Eastern Subterranean Termite:

Is the most damaging urban pest, costing more than 1 billion annually for control and repair to damaged structures. This colony is usually in the ground

There are three castes to this Termite Colony!

  • Workers: The most numerous and dominant to this caste contain 60,000 to 5 million workers per colony (impossible to properly Identify). They have chewing mouthparts, and are responsible for all the damage in wooden structures. The workers of a large colony can eat about a pound of wood a day and that is over 12 inches of a typical 2x4 per day. As you can now tell, if you have the potential that they are present in your homes structure, it is best to stop this problem quickly, before your economic loss is significant and substantial.
  • Soldiers: represent 1-3% of the foraging population. They protect the workers. (ID important)
  • Alates: These are winged reproductives. They swarm during the day from late Jan. to early Feb. (ID important)

Formosan (Subterranean) Termites

The most widely distributed and economically important termite containing 28 species. They were first discovered in Florida in the 1980’s. A single colony can contain several million individuals that forage up to 300 ft. Because of it’s population size and distance it travels from it’s nest foraging, it poses the most serious threat and risk to nearby structures. Once established, the Formosan termite has never been eradicated from an area. This termite is normally found in the ground and their nests can be found between walls and beneath sinks. As with other termite species, the colony contains 3 primary castes and ID availability are about identical as the Eastern Subterranean termite.

Drywood Termites

These termites are found entirely within wood structures because they do not require soil contact and obviously do not make mud tubes.

Important information for you: This termite colony lives entirely within the wood structure so there is no visible sign of damage other than possible blistering to the wood surface. The only sign you may have is the fecal pellet remains that form piles beneath kick-out holes.

We can tell what problem you may have just from the fecal remains of this pest.
