I will first start off this information piece with the fact that I absolutely love bees! They are an important part of our eco system. I am specifically in need of them for my edible landscaping filled with exotic fruit trees and vegetable gardens.
Unfortunately, there are times when these wonderfully needed friends can be an extreme hazard to the health and safety of human beings. Many people are highly allergic to the venom of bees, yellow jackets, wasps, and hornets. The more recently discovered and highly adaptable African Honey bees are even more deadly and can easily kill people who are not even allergic to them due to the fact that they are more aggressive, will chase you further, and can sting multiple times. In the wild, they are breeding with the European honey bee and creating a more aggressive nature.
I once serviced a home in Sarasota that had honey bees in the attic! the owners had waited too long before calling for their removal. I remember walking in and immediately seeing a few flying around and knew that there could be a big problem awaiting. I did a thorough search and found a small closet that had a dark stain on it and knew instantly it meant that it was more than likely honey dripping onto the ceiling! A closer look and the scent was obvious!
After removing this Honey bee nest, I found it to have a total length of over 8 feet. Well over 3,000 bees came out of this attic and it happened to be the gentleman was highly allergic to them.
The removal of stinging insects and their nests can be a highly dangerous endeavor and is best left to a trained professional. It is not just removing the nest, but also finding the point of entry so the area can be sealed off so this problem does not happen again. This is the most important part of our services! Please give us a call with any questions you may have in making your surroundings safe for you and your family. We will gladly assist you and give you a free estimate for removal of them!
